EAD 301 SUSTAINABILITY:
· We manage nature’s resources responsibly to produce environmentally friendly products
o We sun dry and cure handmade cement and concrete tiles
o We recycle water from production process
o We recycle and salvage molds
o We use sparingly hydraulic energy
o We use local materials: sand, soap stone, limestone
· We do Not Contribute to Landfills to protect the Nicaraguan environment
o Our production process creates minimal waste
o Our loose cement and concrete mix is reclaimed and re-used
o Our tiles not passing quality control are broken up and used in mix
o Our left over sand is used for on-site construction projects
o Our tiles are packed in recyclable cardboard boxes
o Our tiles are very long lasting. They do not have to be ripped out and replaced; at the end of their life cycle,they can be broken up and re-used for paving.
· We do not use toxins to contribute to eco-friendly spaces
o We achieve slip resistance without the use of acid chemicals
o Our pigments are from naturally occurring iron oxides
o We use no lead
